Welcome—I'm Glad You're Here
From the Kitchen Table

If you’ve found your way here, chances are you’re carrying something you’ve been trying to make sense of.
Maybe it’s your own health.
Maybe it’s your child’s.
Maybe it’s an aging parent who needs more care than they used to.
Or maybe it’s simply the quiet feeling that life has gotten too fast, too complicated, and you’re ready for something steadier.
I want you to know—you don’t have to sort it all out before you begin.
My name is Andrea. I’m a registered nurse, herbalist, homeschool mother, and someone deeply rooted in the mountains of Western North Carolina. My work is shaped by years in ICU, hospice, home health, pediatrics, and elder care, as well as a lifetime of learning from the women who came before me—grandmothers who knew how to care for a home, a garden, a body, and a family with simple, steady wisdom.
I also know what it means to sit at a bedside and what it means to sit at a kitchen table when life feels heavy.
Both spaces have shaped how I care for people now.
A Different Kind of Care
What I offer here is not rushed or transactional.
It is slow, grounded, and personal.
Whether I’m working with someone one-on-one or preparing herbal teas, salves, oils, or fire cider in small batches, the intention is the same:
to support the body gently
and help people return to a more steady way of living.
I believe most healing begins not with doing more—but with coming back into rhythm:
sleep, nourishment, rest, seasons, and attention to what the body is already saying.
Herbalism, Nursing, and Practical Care
My nursing background matters deeply in how I approach herbalism.
I don’t separate traditional wisdom from clinical understanding.
I listen for patterns:
what the body is doing
what the symptoms are pointing toward
what needs support right now
and what needs to be referred for additional medical care
Herbs are not a replacement for medicine.
And medicine is not separate from the wisdom of the body.
Both can have their place when used thoughtfully.
What You’ll Find Here
This space—From the Kitchen Table—was created to feel like a conversation.
Not overwhelming information.
Not perfect answers.
Just grounded teaching, seasonal rhythms, and practical care you can actually use in daily life.
You’ll find guidance on:
herbal teas and everyday remedies
women’s, men’s, and children’s health
elder care and caregiving support
gut and inflammatory health
seasonal living and home rhythms
simple ways to care for yourself and your family
And alongside that, you’ll also find offerings from my apothecary—small-batch herbal preparations made with intention, simplicity, and respect for traditional methods.
Working Together
For those who want deeper support, I offer one-on-one consultations that feel less like an appointment and more like sitting down at my kitchen table.
There is often a cup of herbal tea in hand.
Nothing rushed.
No pressure to have the right words.
We simply begin where you are.
In our time together, we talk through what’s going on, look at patterns—not just isolated symptoms—and create a plan that feels realistic for your actual life.
Not ideal life.
Real life.
You don’t have to figure everything out alone.
The Apothecary
The herbal products you’ll find here are created in small batches:
tea blends, fire cider, salves, infused oils, fermented honey preparations, and other seasonal remedies inspired by what people actually need in everyday living.
These are not mass-produced wellness items.
They are kitchen-based preparations rooted in tradition, observation, and practical care.
If You’re New Here
Start slowly.
Read what resonates.
Explore what feels useful.
Take what supports you and leave what doesn’t.
There is no pressure here to do everything at once.
Healing is rarely fast, and it is never one-size-fits-all.
A Simple Invitation
If you are feeling ready for more direct support—whether for yourself, your child, your family, or an aging loved one—you’re welcome to book a consultation.
We will sit down, look at what’s happening in your daily life, and begin building something steady together.
Or if you simply want to explore herbal support for your home, the apothecary is here for you as well.
Either way, you are welcome here.
And you don’t have to navigate it alone.
